It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of one of our own Auxiliary members, Debbie Moore Linkous, on Friday, January 5, 2018. Debbie was a lifetime member of the Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She was very active in the Auxiliary and served many terms as the Auxiliary’s Historian. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sim and Evelyn Moore; and brother, Dick Hagy.
Debbie is survived by her husband William Linkous; sons, Billy Linkous and John Linkous (Kelly) grandchildren, Maria, Brunner, Dexton, and Stella; sisters-in-law, Joanne Hagy and Wanda McCraw.
Debbie was an animal lover especially, her dogs. She also enjoyed collecting lighthouses and Wizard of Oz memorabilia and loved spending time with her husband and grandchildren.
The Auxiliary has lost another amazing and kind woman this year. Phyllis Williams, Past President and Past Secretary of the VSFA Auxiliary. Phyllis passed away on August 23, 2019.
Phyllis has served with the Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Auxiliary to the Virginia State Firefighter's Association for over 40 years. She was the Secretary for the State Auxiliary for 25 years.
Phyllis was an amazing woman who was a mentor to many of us as we were all considered family to her. This is a loss to the Christiansburg Community, the State Auxiliary and she has left a special place in our hearts.
Please continue to keep her family and the Christiansburg Fire Department and Auxiliary in your prayers.
